When is Bucharest International 10K?

It’s on Sunday, April 21st 2019, rain or shine. The official inauguration will be at 8:30 am, when all participants will be lined up at the Start line. The start will be at 8:50 am for the wheelchair competition and followed shortly by the rest of participants on Maresal Constantin Prezan Boulevard, between Arcul de Triumf and Charles de Gaulle Square. The festivities and entertainment will start at 11:00 am at Herastrau Park-Charles de Gaulle Square. Join us, it’s gonna be fun!

Do I have to be an elite athlete to start at this race?

Everybody is welcome, from professional athletes to amateur runners. That means whether you’re looking to run, walk, jog, ready to set a personal or race record, there’s a place for you. The race race is open to anybody older than 10 years old (the day of the race), and will includes a wheelchair category as well. We will feature also  Team 3 Challenge. Each team will include 3 amateur athletes, each running full 10K distance, and the total time will determine the team’s position in the standings.

For the first time we will have also a POPULAR RACE for the distance of 3,5 km.

How much it is to register?

  • For those between 10 and 18 years old the day of the race: € 10 (use promo code KID2019)
  • For the POPULAR RACE: € 10 (official ASICS t-shirt not included, available for € 10)
  • For those over 18 years old the day of the race:
    • € 20 – before January 1st, 2019
    • € 25 – before April 31st, 2019
    • € 30 – before April 7th, 2019

Is there anything I can’t do?

In order to keep everyone on their feet, we don’t allow pets, strollers, inline skates, or bicycles. The warm up before the Start can be done only in the portion up to the starting line, the front area is reserved exclusively for elite athletes. There are no refunds, exchanges or transfers on registration fees.

What can I expect on race day?

You mean besides the time of your life? Simple. You’ll line up at the start Maresal Constantin Prezan Boulevard, between Arcul de Triumf and Charles de Gaulle Square. The wheelchair participants will start first, followed shortly by the rest of competitors. Once the gun goes off, you’re headed for a running tour of Bucharest by the most attractive landmarks, supported by fans at every turn, and energy like no other town could offer. The water and energy drinks station will be place according to IAAF regulations at 5km. You’ll finish where you started, with a cold beverage in your hand and a Bucharest International 10K finisher medal to celebrate. You can hang out in the park, meet elite athletes, enjoy the festivities, entertainment, and visit the vendors stands for great offers and promotions. And you just finished Romania’s greatest 10K race.

What is the EXPO / Where can I pick up my race package?

The EXPO is held on April 20th, 2019 – 11:00am-6:00pm, the day before the race at Herastrau Park – Charles de Gaulle Square entrance. You or your authorized representative (with your ID copy) can pick up your race package, get great offers from the EXPO vendors, event sponsors, or partners. To ensure the integrity of the chip, please do not bend the race BiB or the chip.In order to have the personal time registered, the race BIB must be fixed with safety pins (provided) in central position on the front of the shirt.

What do I get in my race package?

You’ll receive a Bucharest International 10K official ASICS race T-shirt, racing bib with a timing chip, and a goody bag with treats (our race sponsors and partners offer more samples and discounts than you could shake a timing tag at, with the note that the respective sponsors are responsible for the promotional product and services). If you are registered for the POPULAR RACE you will get the racing bib with a timing chip, and a goody bag with treats.

How do I see my results?

We know that most times, it’s all about your time. Personal time will be posted live every 10 seconds and instantly at the finish line. Bucharest International 10K  will post your resultsonline on the race day, along with your personal online diploma.
